24h Row 2018

On the 21st and 22nd of March members of Manchester University Boat Club took part in it’s annual 24h row.

The funds raised are to be equally split between FOP Friends and Manchester University Boat Club. We will put the money towards providing coaching for our Easter Training Camp in Chester and FOP’s share will be put towards funding a research team at Oxford University.

The event started at 12:00pm on the 21st of March at the grassed area between the Students’ Union and Academy 1 and ended exactly 24h later.  We rowed a total of 636.4km, which is enough to go from Manchester Academy to Paris, or from Manchester Academy to the Orkney Islands beyond the north coast of Scotland, all in 24 hours!

This annual event contributes in great part to club finances.  You can still donate till the 1st of April here.

Donating through Virgin Money Giving is simple, fast and totally secure. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to FOP Friends, the charity we’re supporting. It’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity. We are grateful for all of your donation, big or small, and we are hoping to top last year’s total of £2000!
