On Sunday 18th November the senior members of MUBC returned to York to compete in York Small Boats Head, a 3km course on the River Ouse. The club sent 7 senior crews, equalling the number sent last year. It was a sunny, but cold day, with the club coming away with two wins.
The the first crew to race, the Senior Women’s quad, came away with the first win of the day in a time of 12:36.9 in Band 1. The following two crews were two Senior Women’s fours, finishing 4th and 6th in Band 1.
After a quick lunch break, it was time for the Senior Men’s squad. They had four boats entered. The double of Francis Heylen and Felix Rummel took home yet another win, and the second win of the day, with a time of 11:26.2 in Band 1. The men’s quad came 2nd in Band 2, and the fours 3rd and 2nd in Bands 1 and 3, respectively.
It proved to be yet another successful day for the club. Thank you to all the organisers and volunteers at York City Boat Club for putting on yet another great event.
