Over the weekend the women’s squads headed down to London to race the Women’s 8’s Head of the River Race 2025. It was the first time since 2022 that MUBC have been able to attend and considering it is the biggest women’s rowing race in the world it was a much anticipated race and the crews were very excited!!
Saturday (which very aptly was International Women’s Day) was a great day for the race, despite a nasty headwind to contend with, and the sun was out in full force (a sight rarely seen up in Manchester!!). The girls went out for an early morning pre-race paddle before boating at 9.30am. Both boats had a successful race, with a particularly impressive performance from the novices, none of which had rowed down the Thames previously.
